The horses of STAR

STAR has been partnering with equines to enrich the lives of persons with disabilities or special challenges since 1987. We utilize various breeds, sizes, gaits, and abilities to provide the best therapeutic experience for our riders and participants. Our horses come from multiple backgrounds, such as hunter/jumper, dressage, pleasure riding, trail riding, western, english, etc. Horses are either leased or donated based on specific criteria, and then each horse is sponsored by generous donors to help offset the cost of their annual care.

Horse Sponsorship
Horse sponsorship is an excellent way to contribute to STAR and help with the daily care of our horses. Each sponsorship requires a $1,800 annual commitment and helps to cover costs for grain, farrier and veterinary expenses, supplements, and any necessary items.
As STAR is a 501(c)3, annual horse sponsorship is tax deductible. Additionally, sponsors receive recognition by having their name(s), company, or organization on selected horses’ stall doors, on the STAR website, and in the STAR Newsletter.
